This group has been formed for one reason!  For veterans to support each other!

  • This group hereby known as “neveterans” has one main goal and purpose:

    • Providing whatever support possible to it’s members and families.

      • Organize outings and events that reduce the isolation of veterans.

      • Encourage socialization of members by attending those events, or assist in any way for members to organize events of their own.

      • To provide members with contact information, in the event that they need to contact other members to talk, or meet for any reason.

      • To assist, if possible, with acquiring benefits or assistance with physical, mental issues, or disability issues they face they face.

  • The support “Staff” has one purpose.  To assist in providing the above support.

    • Support staff Positions are voluntary and unpaid, and will consist of the following:

      • Oversight Officer holds a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of the veterans support group and its actions. Their responsibilities encompass the overall management of the group, staff, and the Board of Directors.  Here are the key aspects of the Oversight Officer’s role:

        1. Comprehensive Responsibility: The Oversight Officer is solely responsible for overseeing all aspects of the group, including the staff and the Board. They ensure that the group operates in accordance with its mission, values, and objectives. Their primary focus is to maintain the integrity and effectiveness of the organization.
        2. Staff Management: The Oversight Officer has the authority to make decisions regarding the selection, removal, or replacement of staff members. They can exercise this discretion to ensure the group maintains a competent and dedicated team. If necessary, they may convene a board or seek assistance to resolve problems or conflicts within the staff.
        3. Conflict Resolution: The Oversight Officer has the power to intervene and address any problems or conflicts that arise within the staff or the group. Their role is to facilitate resolutions and maintain a harmonious working environment. They have the authority to make decisions and take appropriate actions to mitigate conflicts.
        4. Decision-Making Authority: The Oversight Officer has complete control over resolving problems and making decisions related to the group’s operations. They have the autonomy to act in the best interests of the organization and its stakeholders. However, the Board of Directors holds the power to reverse the Oversight Officer’s decisions and replace them if they deem it necessary.

        The Oversight Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the organization operates effectively, maintains its integrity, and resolves any issues that may arise. Their authority, coupled with the oversight of the Board, helps maintain accountability and the overall success of the veterans support group.

      • As the Executive Director of the veterans support group, you play a vital role in the overall management and leadership of the organization. You hold day-to-day responsibility for ensuring the group’s success and achieving its mission.  Here are the key aspects of your role as the Executive Director:

        1. Strategic Leadership: You provide strategic direction and vision for the group, setting goals and objectives in alignment with the organization’s mission. You make important decisions and guide the overall direction of the group, ensuring its long-term sustainability and growth.
        2. Operational Management: You oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization. This includes managing staff, volunteers, and resources effectively to ensure smooth functioning and the achievement of organizational objectives. You may establish policies and procedures, delegate tasks, and monitor progress towards goals.
        3. Financial Management: You are responsible for the financial health of the organization. This involves budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation to support the group’s activities. You may collaborate with the Financial Officer to ensure proper financial management and reporting.
        4. External Relations: As the Executive Director, you act as the primary spokesperson for the organization. You build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, such as government agencies, donors, community partners, and other organizations. You may also advocate for the group’s mission and engage in fundraising efforts.
        5. Board of Directors: You work closely with the Board of Directors, providing them with guidance, updates, and recommendations. You may facilitate board meetings and ensure effective communication between the board and the organization.

        2. Record Organization: You are in charge of organizing and maintaining important records and documents related to the group’s operations.         2. Fund Management: You oversee the management of funds within the organization. This involves monitoring the incoming funds, ensuring they are appropriately allocated to different initiatives or projects, and keeping track of any restrictions or earmarks placed on specific donations.
        3. Expense Tracking: You record and categorize all expenditures made by the group. This includes documenting the purpose, amount, and recipient of each expense, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies.
        4. Financial Reporting: You generate regular financial reports that provide an overview of the group’s financial status. These reports help the organization’s leadership and members understand the financial health of the group and make informed decisions.

      • As the Administrator/IT Officer of a veterans support group, your role encompasses several key responsibilities:

        3. Membership and Composition: The Board of Directors consists of ten members who are chosen from the organization’s membership. The selection process may involve random selection based on availability or appointments made by the oversight officer at their sole discretion. Having board members with a variety of backgrounds and expertise enhances the board’s ability to make informed decisions.
        4. Governance and Policy: The Board of Directors ensures that the organization operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. They establish governance policies, review and approve organizational bylaws, and provide guidance on legal and ethical matters. They also hire and oversee the performance of the executive director, if applicable.
        5. Fiduciary Responsibility: The Board is responsible for the financial health and sustainability of the organization. They oversee financial management, approve budgets, and ensure proper financial controls and accountability. They may also participate in fundraising efforts and resource allocation decisions.

        By exercising their authority and providing strategic direction, the Board of Directors plays a vital role in the success and growth of the veterans support group.

  • All members of the group are equal, to include the support staff!

  • All members of the group can give and receive support from any other member of the group.
  • While the Staff may plan group events, any member may plan their own events with any other members they please.
  • Any member may have information placed on the web page!  It is the group website!
  • Any member may have information sent out via newsletter, or special bulletin!  It is the group newsletter and contact point!
